  • European destination with good flight access due to company policy on number of staff per flight
  • 4 or 5* accommodation
  • All staff to stay in 1 hotel if possible or overflow accommodation to be within walking distance
  • Separate space or locations for a conference and gala dinner
  • Fun teambuilding activities
  • Option to extend stay for the weekend

The Solution

Barcelona was selected as the final destination as there are numerous daily flights from London which allowed us to adhere to company policy of a maximum 50 employees per flight.  The Rey Juan Carlos I hotel proved to be a great choice for the event as it had separate locations to host the conference, buffet lunch, an outside gala dinner and party plus a wet weather back up plan.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Sourcing group seats on over 10 flights, plus allocating preferences for different return flights due to employees being able to extend their stay in Barcelona after the event
  • Co-ordinating airport transfers and start times of the treasure hunt around Barcelona city centre in groups
  • Last minute change in venue for the Gala Dinner as a huge thunderstorm approached within an hour of when dinner was due to be served
  • Cleaning and tidying and setting up of outdoor space ready for the party element of the evening event as the storm passed
